Tomoaki Uno Architects
The client is a furniture crafsman. He wanted a house where his furniture would look good.
I realized that it should not be made of wood. I thought architecture should be to shine his furniture.
I wanted to create a white canvas-like architecture with as little as possible painted for it.
I designes a simple rectangular buliding that grows from a sloping sites.
The walls were stuccoed on concrete. The outside is a little rough and the inside is smooth.
The simplicity made me feel that this architecture had an atmosphere beyond my imaginstion.
